Below is a breakdown of expenses for doctoral students at the University of Denver for the 2012-2013 academic year. (All rates quoted here are subject to change.)

Doctoral student financial aid
We must receive your completed application by Jan. 15 to be considered for entrance into the program in fall quarter. However, for best admission and financial aid consideration, we ask that you submit your PhD application by Dec. 15 of the preceding year.
Financial aid available to doctoral students includes:
- teaching and research assistantships that include a full tuition waiver, plus a $16,000 stipend
- fellowships ranging from $1,000 to $4,500 per year for students enrolled in a minimum of 8 credit hours per quarter
- loans including Stafford Loans as well as private loans. Filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online is required if you wish to be considered for student loans. The FAFSA become available online on January 1 of each year. The institutional code for the University of Denver is 001371.
