Prof. Enid Cox is Director of GSSW's Institute of Gerontology. Under her leadership since 1983, the Institute has become a respected source of research, training and community service in the Rocky Mountain region. Recently, Prof. Cox was principal investigator of a research project that explored social services in independent housing for the elderly. Another of her recent projects, funded by the Administration on Aging and focused on elderly care-receivers, is now being replicated in Canada, Korea and Japan.

Prof. Cox also is a leader in GSSW's ongoing effort to help rebuild the social work profession in China, where she recently led an international team of scholars on a visit to Beijing and Shanghai. At GSSW, Prof. Cox teaches courses in social policy, social services and aging, and the history of social welfare and social work.
