Prof. Jae McQueen teaches generalist practice, community practice, social welfare history and policy courses. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings with children, youth and families including community-based services, residential treatment and public schools. Often these professional roles have included program and policy development across multiple public and private, non-profit systems of service.
Prof. McQueen's goal in every student interaction is inspiring future social work leaders to actively engage in their education. She utilizes teaching strategies that facilitate the learning environment and build upon students' knowledge, experiences and passions. She has demonstrated success in sparking student interest for subjects or courses that are not always the most favored.
The 2010 recipient of GSSW’s Excellence in Teaching Award for adjunct professors, Prof. McQueen was honored in 2012 by the Xi Delta Chapterof Phi Alpha Honor Society for her scholarship and teaching.
