Clinical Assistant Professor David Blair has been a family therapist since 1975, specializing in intensive outpatient and acute care services for multi-problem families in both the public and private sectors.
He is co-owner of the Denver Family Therapy Center, Inc. (DFTC), and has served as its co-director since 1988. DFTC provides mental health and substance abuse services from a systemic, family-based and strengths-based perspective to individuals, groups, and families—including children, adolescents, adults and older adults.
DFTC specializes in working with "at-risk" adolescents and families, and is contracted with most major managed care companies, metropolitan Denver probation, and human services departments, and other community agencies.
Blair is also a faculty member and supervisor at the Denver Family Institute, which partners with GSSW to offer the certificate in couples and family therapy to our MSW students. He has been an adjunct faculty member at GSSW since 1998.
In 2003, Blair was named Therapist of the Year by the Colorado Association for Marital and Family Therapy.
