GSSWGraduate School of Social Work

Research & Institutes

GSSW faculty and students are conducting a wide variety of research, training and technical assistance projects affecting individuals, families and communities around the world.

GSSW research:

  • provides vital information to national and state policy makers
  • promotes effective social work practice
  • enriches learning among GSSW students, as faculty members bring their expertise into the classroom
  • supports students through opportunities to serve as research assistants

Download a PDF of active, 2016 research projects. If you are interested in being involved in research, please contact (via email) the faculty member/student leading the study.

Additionally, GSSW's two institutes provide in-depth research and training in child welfare and animal-assisted social work, and our Center for Effective Interventions offers training and technical assistance to communities and agencies in Western states that seek to establish evidence-based and promising programs for families, children and youth.
