Honor Society
Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD)
The National Sociological Honor
Society is named Alpha Kappa Delta (or AKD).
AKD was founded at the University of Southern California in 1920,
primarily as a group where students could learn about each other's
research, exchange ideas, and seek suggestions and critiques on their
sociology projects from their department faculty.
The University of Denver's AKD chapter is officially called
"Alpha of Colorado" and was founded in 1947.
Dr. Peter Adler is currently the faculty advisor for our chapter.
