MGMT 3700/4700 - 4 Credits
|Dates:||Aug. 27 - 30, 2012|
|Days:||Monday - Thursday|
|Time:||8 a.m. - 6 p.m.|
Description: In this age of globalization of business, the urgency of understanding the cultural prerequisites of doing business in other cultures cannot be overlooked. As U.S. enterprises start to forge into emerging markets like those in Brazil, China, Russia and India, they increasingly face the issue of failure due to cultural pitfalls. The possibilities of failure include business situations like negotiating business deals, issues of regular cultural interactions by expatriates, and issues of ethical correctness. Business alliances need to develop critical strategic cultural tools to ensure successful collaboration. The course will seek to develop cultural awareness, sensitivity and adaptability in all inter-cultural business transactions for our students. The course will incorporate lectures, class discussions, text material, in-class exercises, and a term paper.
