Interterm Registration

Students must be cleared of all registration holds before registration can be completed. The DU Web Registration system is activated for Interterm registration. All registrations should be made online, with the exception of travel courses and The Women’s College students.

Registration for travel courses MUST be made through the Special Community Programs Office. Registration for travel courses must be accompanied by the necessary deposit to hold your spot in the class.

Students at The Women’s College must contact Danielle Ferioli at 303-871-6032 or dferioli@du.edu to register.

Students are not permitted to attend Interterm classes without registration and tuition payment. It is the student's responsibility to adhere to departmental requirements, if any, and to obtain an advisor's permission and/or signature.

How to Register for Travel Courses

You may register by phone or receive a registration form, please call 303-871-2360

For Travel Courses, print out a registration form, attach the necessary deposit in the form of check or money order, or fill in the credit card information for the deposit amount.
Sign the Registration Form to confirm registration for the classes listed and to indicate you understand the policies of registration as outlined here.

Deadline for Registration

Registration for classes on campus is accepted up to the first class meeting, provided the class is not closed. Travel courses have varying registration/deposit deadlines; see individual course descriptions for specifics.

Cancelled Classes

Courses may be cancelled due to a lack of enrollment. Special Community Programs reserves the right to cancel any class and cannot be held responsible for any travel expenses due to cancellation. Deposits will be refunded if the course is cancelled by Special Community Programs.

How to Add or Drop a Course

You cannot drop a course via the Web. To add or drop an on-campus course, you must contact Special Community Programs in person or by calling 303-871-2360. No refunds will be issued after the first course session. There are no partial refunds for Interterm classes.

Grades

Grades for Interterm courses are due within 30 days of the end of Interterm. Interterm grades are not automatically mailed to students. If grades are necessary for tuition reimbursement from your employer prior to this date, please call 303-871-2360.

Official transcripts can only be issued from the Registrar's Office with completion of a transcript request form and a $4 fee. Transcripts are not available for non-credit courses.

Location of Classes

Classroom locations will be listed online under course schedules. You may also contact the Special Community Programs Office at 303-871-2360 to obtain classroom locations. If you are not familiar with campus, please call 303-871-2360 for directions. If time permits, a map will be mailed to you.

Books

Required books will be available in the DU Bookstore or at the Special Community Programs Office, depending on the class. Most course syllabi will be distributed on the first day of class.

Some classes may require course preparation. If so, you will be contacted by the Interterm office regarding the assignments. Travel courses require a prior to departure orientation. Readings and/or course preparation materials will be assigned at that time.

Housing

A very limited amount of housing will be available to Winter Interterm students. Space will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students interested in housing during the Winter Interterm should contact the Housing and Residential Education office at 303-871-2246.

Independent Study/Internship

Interterm is a great time to do an independent study or internship. To register for independent study or an internship, contact the academic department of your choice and/or professor to make arrangements, then contact the Interterm Office at 303-871-2360 to assist you with registration.

Refunds

Refunds of tuition MUST be requested prior to the first day of class. Absolutely no refunds will be given after the first day of Interterm class. Deposits for travel courses are non-refundable.

Upcoming Events

Summer Link to College

August 5 - 9, 2008

Summer Link is a summer program for high school sophomores from partner schools who are going into their junior year. The program is a weeklong residential introduction to college life. Students attend a class each day taught by a University of Denver (DU) professor, as well as participate in educational and challenging workshops that motivate them to successfully complete high school and prepare them for the college application process. In addition, students volunteer for many community and cultural activities. The uniqueness of the program is in the follow-up activities, which continue until students graduate from high school.

Fall Interterm

August 15 - 31, 2008

Interterm is the period between quarters in which intensive on-campus, on-line and travel courses are offered in intensive formats to provide students with an alternative approach to learning. DU faculty create Interterm classes that are academically challenging and involve an experiential component. Most students who experience Interterm courses return for additional opportunities to enhance their experience. The courses may be taken for credit at current DU tuition rates. There are four Interterms each year, which are scheduled immediately after each quarter.
