This is an elective course available to all students across the DU campus. Its purpose is to introduce students to the upstream, midstream and downstream components of the oil and gas business.
This course introduces students to the critical components of the upstream, midstream and downstream parts of the oil and gas business. Students will understand key terms and concepts including: Origins of Oil and Gas, Oil Overview, Natural Gas Overview and Petroleum Industry Structure, Searching for and Evaluating Oil and Gas, Drilling and Completion Onshore and Managing Oil and Gas Production, Transporting Natural Gas by Pipeline, Transporting Natural Gas as LNG, Converting Oil into Products, Converting Natural Gas into Products and Petroleum Trading, and Managing Oil and Gas Production, Transporting Oil and Transporting Natural Gas by Pipeline and Transporting Oil.
