Description: This course applies a sociological approach to the study of technology. We will explore the ways that technological developments alter how people experience self-identity, embodiment, and social interaction. We will also seek to understand the implications of contemporary technological developments, particularly in the realm of social media and communication technologies, by studying these developments within broader historical, cultural, and social contexts.

Prerequisite: SOCI  1810 or Permission of Instructor
