Q: How do I recruit students for open positions? A: Your primary means of recruiting students is our website. The first step is to register for an online account. You should receive an email from our office within 1-3 days alerting you that you've been added as a site user. Then, you may return to the site to post your job.
Q: How do I post a job? A: Once you've been alerted by email that you've received login permission, you can log in to your account. You'll need your username (your email address) and the password you created when you requested login permission. Then click "Add a Job."
Q: What should I do if I forgot my password? A: Email the Office of Student Employment, or call us at 303-871-6792. We will temporarily reset your password, which you can then reset once you've logged in.
Q: How much should I pay students? A: Jobs posted on our website should pay at least $10 per hour. The purpose of this policy is to help our students better finance their educations. Some exceptions can be made. Restaurant jobs, for instance, can be posted if students will end up earning at least $10 per hour when tips are taken into account.
Q: What hours do you recommend students work? A: Our office recommends full-time students work no more than 20 hours per week, as a heavier workload might distract them from their educational goals. However, off-campus work schedules are negotiated by the employer and his or her student employee.
Q: Can I post jobs on your website that require a degree? A: Our primary mission at the Office of Student Employment is to help current students finance their educations through part-time employment. Therefore, we generally limit postings to part-time jobs that don't require a degree. If you are seeking a full-time employee, it may be more appropriate to contact the DU Career Center at 303-871-4308.
Q: Can I post internships to this site? A: You may post paid internships on our site, as it is a service to assist students who are seeking employment as a way to finance their educations. If the position is unpaid, however, please visit the DU Career Center website to recruit interns. You may also contact John Haag at the Career Center at 303-871-4309.
