Each 40-minute session is offered twice so you can pick the two sessions according to the information that interests you most.
See below for descriptions of each session.
Remember to pick two of the three options. Don’t worry if you
miss something - the Parent and Family Handbook includes written information
for every office offering a session.

Study Abroad
Davis Auditorium, Sturm Hall
The University of Denver is committed to educating students for the global society in which they will live, work and learn. Options include a variety of sponsored study abroad programs including the new Cherrington Global Scholars program. Because DU believes so passionately in the value of a study abroad experience, we’ve made it affordable for our students. Opt for one of our sponsored programs and your student will study abroad at the same cost as a quarter on the DU campus. We even pick up travel expenses to and from the study site. Many liberal arts colleges and universities offer study abroad programs, but only a few ensure affordability the way DU does.
Health & Counseling
Lindsey Auditorium, Sturm Hall
What advice do you give to your student if they get sick and are far away from home? What if you student is struggling with personal issues or adjustment to college? The Student Health and Counseling Center is an outpatient, on-campus facility that provides a wide range of medical and mental health services. Physicians, nurses, psychologists, physician assistants, and other professionals are on staff at the center. The staff will present the services offered and answer your questions during this session.
Campus Safety
Driscoll Ballroom, 2nd Level of the Driscoll Student Center North
Safety is always a priority at the University of Denver. Come hear
from Campus Safety about the programs and policies that continue
to ensure that DU remains a safe campus, including a 23 minute video on how to respond to an active shooter scenario. Find out how your
student can utilize these programs and services on campus and ask any questions you may have about campus safety.

Life and Your Student’s First Year
The Student Life Division is a partner in student learning, and
includes areas such as Academic Advising, Career Center, Campus
Activities, Housing and Residential Education, Citizenship and
Community Standards (judicial) and other programs that are designed
to help you student have a successful experience at the University
of Denver. The Associate Provosts of Student Life will share
various perspectives on what to expect as a parent and how you
can support your student through their first year of college,
both academically and in their life on campus.

Getting
Involved – Campus Activities, Greek Life, Athletics & Recreation
Life at college involves not only a lot of classroom learning,
but also a variety of activities outside the classroom that serve
to enhance your student’s learning. Hear about the leadership
activities, student clubs and organizations, athletics, recreation
and intramural sports opportunities available to your student
through these offices. There is never “nothing to do” at
DU!
