Spring Orientation To-Do List
Spring Orientation is focused on academic issues, advising, and class registration. There are several other important things to do to insure a smooth transtion to the University of Denver. All web pages and resources referenced below are linked at the left.
Configure Your Laptop - Computers must be configured to the DU system to comply with security requirements and gain access to the wireless network.
Transfer Courses - If you are a transfer student and have questions about how courses transfer into DU, it will be helpful if you can bring copies of official course descriptions from your previous institution. These must be printed or copied from the institution's course catalog, either hard copy or online. Syllabai are not acceptable.
Parking - If you are bringing a car to campus for the quarter, you will need a permit from Parking Services. Parking for Winter Orientation will not be provided. Please plan to purchase a permit prior to Orientation on January 4th or park in a metered space for the day. Metered spaces can be found on the Parking Map.
Health Insurance - DU requires that all students have coverage. Please determine if you need coverage from the University or are able to waive this service due to coverage through your own policy.
Immunizations Requirements - You are required to provide proof of immunization. Download, complete, and return the form found on the Health and Counseling site.
Get a DU ID card - It is very important for you to get your University of Denver Pioneer ID card as soon as possible. The ID Office is located on the Ground floor of Driscoll South. Office hours are 9am-6pm Monday -Thursday and 10am-3pm Fridays, beginning on January 1.
Pick Up Your Eco Pass Sticker - DU provides free access to public transportation for students. Once you have your ID, you may pick up a sticker at the Transportation Center.
On Campus Housing - If you are living on campus, new student check-in begins on Friday, January 1, at 8am.
Meal Plans - Whether you are living on campus or not, a meal plan may be a great option for the busy life of a student. The first dining hall meal begins at breakfast on Monday, January 4.
Books - The final hour of Winter Orientation will be class registration. After you register and know your courses, you can then go to the DU Bookstore, or purchase books through other vendors around town or online.
