Interpersonal violence or sexual misconduct in any form is inappropriate and will not be accepted at the University of Denver. DU is committed to ending gender violence in its community and has created an office dedicated to providing support and advocacy for survivors of gender violence. GVESS Logo

The Gender Violence Education and Support Services Office (formerly Sexual Assault Response and Prevention Office) can provide education and training, support services and resource referral. Its mission is:

- To provide safe and confidential resources and assistance to survivors of gender violence, and their friends and families
- To educate the campus community on gender violence and its effects
- To provide primary prevention initiatives
- To enhance the experience of all students, staff, and faculty in conjunction with the University of Denver's mission and Student Life Division's mission

GVESS is under the auspices of the Student Life Division and works in partnership with Citizenship and Community Standards, the Health and Counseling Center, and Campus Safety. All services are free and confidential.

The GVESS Office provides services to all who need them regardless of race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, marital status, and veteran status.
