What Does It Mean?

You've heard about Knowing the Code, but how does the Code apply to your daily life? How do you, as a student at DU, Live the Code and uphold our standards of Civility, Community, Integrity, and Responsibility?

We asked students and staff at DU what it means to them to Live the Code. Here are some of the their responses:

"Living the Code is basically the difference between knowing and doing. You may know that an action is disruptive to the DU community, but it is only when you refrain from that disruptive behavior that you are living the code."

--Female student, 21

"Living the Code means living in a fun environment while still being responsible for your own actions."

--Male student, 19

"When you Live the Code, you put the campus policies into action in your day-to-day activities and interactions."

--Campus staff member
