2016 Discoveries Orientation for Transfer Students
Orientation for transfer students begins Tuesday, September 6th. Transfer students will experience a full week of DU life, learn about campus resources, and meet with their staff academic advisor. For students who are unable to attend the full week of Orientation, we offer a One Day Transfer Student Symposium on Friday, September 9th.
To Register for Transfer Student Orientation, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, student id, and if you are planning to attend the full week of Orientation or the One Day Transfer Student Symposium on Friday, September 9th.
Discoveries: Your Gateway to DU
Our goal at Discoveries is to make sure that you have a successful transition to the University of Denver
We match you with a current DU student, your Orientation Leader, who once also transferred to DU. This Orientation Leader will act as your guide through the jam-packed Discoveries Orientation experience.
From building social connections to finding out the best places to eat on-campus, your Orientation Leader and the rest of the Discoveries Team will make sure you are well-informed and prepared for your first year at the University of Denver.
As a transfer student, you've already had experience on a college campus. Your orientation experience is designed with this in mind, and gives you an opportunity to learn about the specific ins and outs of DU.
Throughout your experience you'll participate in activities such as:
- small group discussions,
- large group presentations,
- interaction with faculty,
- academic advising,
- fun social activities,
- and much more!
Programs during Orientation will take place in various locations across campus. If you need accommodations due to a disability, please contact The Disability Services Program (DSP) at 303.871.2278 to discuss arrangements.
