The Office of First and Second Year Experience

The Office of First and Second Year Experience (FY-SYE) supports traditional and non-traditional first-year and second-year students in their transition and adjustment to the University of Denver. We are able to accomplish this through the work ethic of dedicated student employees, campus-wide collaborations, and volunteers who serve as mentors and/or peer leaders.

The initiatives of FY-SYE are coordinated by the Program Director. The person in this role provides theoretical and practical student engagement principles to connect DU Pioneers to :

  • Academic Support Services and Advising
  • Co-Curricular Involvement / School Spirit & Traditions
  • Intercultural Engagement
  • Career Services
  • Study Abroad Opportunities
  • Resources that address personal issues and concerns

The Office of First and Second Year Experience endeavors to help students develop autonomy and confidence as an individual, enhance your identity as a scholar and leader, and make your ‘DU Experience’ one to remember!
