A Letter from the Parents Association Council Co-Chairs
Dear University of Denver Parents,
Sending a student off to college is an exhilarating and often times arduous task. It also is one of the most significant investments your family can make—the education of your child. The University of Denver’s Parents Council can offer you an opportunity to become knowledgeable and involved in your student’s college experience. As the Co-Chairs of this year’s Parents Council, we invite you first of all to join our Parents Association and encourage interested parents to join our Council. Benefits, duties and responsibilities are explained in this brochure.
One of the key advantages to becoming a member of the Parents Association is having the benefit of communication between the University and you at home. The Parents Association Council is an advisory board with its members being selected by undergraduate class and geographic area through an application process available on the DU website. Meetings are held in the fall and spring. It is an opportunity for us to meet with the Chancellor and learn more about the exciting progression of the University ranging from academics to campus life to athletics and student activities.
In addition to your advocacy of, and assistance to the University, you will gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the mission and the many remarkable achievements of the University of Denver. Council members will meet and work together with other parents from across the country to collectively journey through the most important investment we can all make—our student’s education.
We hope this journey for your family will be an exciting and rewarding one. Thank you for your interest and support of the Parents Association Council.
Sincerely,
Mariette and Scott Blackett
