Supporting our StudentsFrom time to time, we all need a little help. All of the staff in the Student Life division are pleased to help students when college life becomes challenging.Housing staff are available to assist with roommate conflicts and Campus Activities staff guide the AUSA Student Senate in making positive change on campus. For students with learning disabilities or who seek accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), University Disability Services (UDS) is a tremendous source of support and advocacy. UDS can offer tutoring and counseling for these students as well as advocate for interpretive readers, sign language interpreters, alternative testing, or other accomodations. To help students make the most of their education, our Academic Advising and Career Center staff help students keep on track with their courses and then help students prepare for their post-college journey. The department of Citizenship and Community Standards (CCS) is responsible for the University of Denver Honor Code which provides a means for students to hold other students accountable to the ideals of academic honesty and integrity. CCS also provides mediation services in disputes between students and convenes the Conduct Review Board where student conduct issues are arbitrated by other students. The Student Life division provides support for many other specific needs. Sexual Assault Response and Prevention, First and Second-Year Experience, the Diversity Action Team, and many other programs exist to help students in difficult times. We encourage you to ask any Student Life staff member when you need that extra help. |
