Greek Leaders Against Sexual Assault (GLASA)

Greek Leaders Against Sexual Assault is a collaboration between Greek Life and the Gender Violence Education and Support Services Office at the University of Denver. It seeks to recruit and train members of each chapter at DU to become a leader in sexual assault response. Accepted members will be trained on issues of gender and sexual aggression so they can engage their peers in discussions and provide a program of activities for their chapter. The program will provide members with knowledge and skills to assist victims/survivors of sexual assault and relationship violence.

GLASA is a network of Greek students who encourage, support, and promote healthful living for Greek students. This program will allow Greek students to get connected more quickly to the services they need by providing knowledgeable and trained individuals in their chapters - people that they trust. It will enable every member to know who they can go to for safe and specific information or advice. GLASA leaders will also act as advisers on effective programs on sexual assault for Greek Life with Gender Violence Education and Support Services Office. As Greek Life members you are in the best position to advise and recommend programs for your peers. GLASA will talk about current issues it sees in its chapters and how to effectively program to address these issues.

GLASA will meet regularly, share ideas, and expand knowledge and skills as well as talk about current issues affecting Greek students. One of the primary roles of GLASA members is to present to each chapter on sexual assault.
