THE BIG EVENT is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 28 from 8pm-1am at the University Of Denver. THE BIG EVENT is a major, late-night event for students, faculty, staff, alumni and special guests. It is the OFFICIAL kick-off event for the sesquicentennial founder's week activities and a celebration of 150 years of the student experience at the University of Denver. The event will take place in the Driscoll Student Center, Campus Green, and the Ritchie Center Complex and will be bigger than any of the past late-night events.

THE BIG EVENT is a new Pioneer tradition that serves the following purposes:

  • Provide a vibrant event that is an alcohol-free alternative activity for students.

  • Instill a sense of school spirit and pioneer pride for attendees.

  • Bring groups together for a common purpose by providing meaningful programming opportunities for student organizations and campus departments.

  • Develop community on campus.

  • Provide service learning opportunities.

All members of the University of Denver community are welcome to attend and be a part of this celebration. Featured activities include a Fire & Ice Winter Wonderland on the Campus Green, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, Casino Night, Laser Tag, Nationally Touring Comedian, Dance Party, Midway Carnival, Athletic Competitions, Festival of Lights, Zip line, Feature Films, Chill out Lounge and many other activities.
