- The Pioneer Award is one of the University of Denver’s most prestigious awards. It is given annually to one faculty member, one staff member, and up to 10 senior students who best exemplify the Pioneer Spirit. It is the highest honor given to an undergraduate student.
The award recognizes individuals who epitomize what it means to be a DU Pioneer. This includes strong academic performance, leadership, community service, involvement, character and pride in one’s school. Nominees should also exemplify pioneering qualities, the attributes that demonstrate innovation, creativity, and a unique perspective that impacts the DU Community. The nomination deadline for the Pioneer Award is April 23, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. DOWNLOAD THIS FORM
- The Outstanding Student Award is given to first year, sophomore, junior and senior students who excel in the areas of scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and service to DU and the Denver community. All nominees will be recognized in the Pioneer Awards Ceremony Program, and winners will be announced at the ceremony.
Nominations for this award must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the nominator, as well as a current resume supplied by the student being nominated.

- The Department/Organization Awards recognize and celebrate the achievements of students, faculty and staff from around campus. Departments and Organizations presenting their own awards may choose to have their award recipients recognized in the Pioneer Awards Ceremony Program. They may also choose to present their awards during the actual ceremony.
In order to have their award recipients recognized, departments/organizations must submit an award form for each award to the Office of Campus Activities.
