Leadership Opportunities

Campus Activities is committed to enhancing the educational mission of the University by encouraging student involvement where experience is the foundation of learning, providing opportunities for life skill development, and fostering a sense of community where all members are valued, challenged, and supported.   To that end we want to develop strong leaders for our campus community.

Astin's Involvement Theory, Astin (1985) emphasized that students learn and develop when they become active in the collegiate experience. Upcraft (1995) expanded on this theory when he stated "The greater the quantity and quality of involvement, the more likely the student will succeed in college" (p.18).  The Campus Activities Office is excited to sponsor two leadership opportunities.   We believe that everyone can become a more effective leader.   We want to support you as your role changes in your student organization, your residence hall floor, your fraternity or sorority.    Leadership is about making a difference and learning about yourself and others.   We are here to support you on your journey.   Enjoy the ride.

Senior Seminar Program and Application

The Senior Seminar is an open dialogue between the student participants about the path they want their lives to follow.   This program will take the values you learned at The University of Denver and teach you how to implement them in order to make effective decisions which will impact their future.

Students will be encouraged to live to their full potential and not live in the parameters set by others.  It will encourage them to question themselves and find the answers which will lead them to success. The seminar is designed to ease anxiety about a job search or what you should be "doing" with your life.   You have all the tools you need to make good decisions about what is important.
