Caucasian Chalk Circle was produced on the University of Denver Theatre Departments proscenium stage. For this production audience risers were built on stage. They were arranged to produce a 20' by 18' arena stage. Because of some of the idiosyncrasies of the space, the arena stage had actor entries in two adjacent corners of the acting space and one more in the middle of the opposite side.
The Caucasian Chalk Circle set consisted of a semi-circular platform surrounding a central playing space. One entry to this set of platforms was framed with an archway. All location changes were created with props, lighting and sound.
The lighting was based on 9 basic lighting areas. Each area was lit 4 instruments 90 degrees apart.
