Medea - Ground PlanMedea: A Noh Cycle was produced on the University of Denver Theatre Department’s proscenium stage. For this production audience risers were built on stage. They were arranged to produce a 21' by 17' thrust stage. Batten trim height was 18'

The Medea set consisted of a floor of 1x12 pine elevated 4" off the actual stage floor. The back wall was built to appear identical but most of it was actually a thick dance floor material cut into strips the same width as the 1x12s. This allowed actors to appear from an apparently solid wall.

The lighting was based on 9 basic lighting areas. Each area was lit 3 instruments. The entire space was then washed with 18 instruments and the back wall with 2 strip lights.
