Mr. Price, or Tropical Madness was produced on the Virginia Commonwealth University's Shafer Street Playhouse, an old high-school gymnasium. The proscenium opening was 20' wide and 10' high. There is no grid and less than 6' of wing space on each side.

The set consisted of a series of five 8' deep platforms. Each platform also had an arch attached to it. Only the lowest platform was fixed to the stage floor. The other four were castered in such a way that the entire set could collapse, sort of like the inside of a collapsable telescope. The platforms began the show fully extended and then act by act the space began to constrict around the characters. The final moment had the "hero" Mr. Price try to reach his dead lover. As he mimed walking downstage toward her the set expanded again moving him further away from his goal.
