The world premiere of She Who Was He was produced on the
Virginia Commonwealth University's Shafer Street Playhouse, an
old high-school gymnasium. The proscenium opening was 20' wide
and 10' high. There is no grid and less than 6' of wing space
on each side. For this production a 24' deep thrust was added
to the front of the stage. It was modeled on Queen Hatshepsut's
temple in Egypt.
