Below is what you need to know about the audition process.
Please read carefully and feel free to email Jennifer Forsyth any questions that you have!
What are you auditioning for?
• Stories on Stage: Directed By Anthony Powell. Performs February 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
• Fiddler on the Roof: Directed By Pam Stiehl. Performs February 28, March 1, 2, 8, 9, 10
• How I Learned to Drive (staged reading): Directed by Cheyenne Michaels. Performs January 18
Auditions
• Stories on Stage auditions are Wednesday, January 9 from 6:30 – 10:00 in the Newman Center
• Fiddler on the Roof auditions are Thursday, January 10 from 6:30 – 10:00 in the Newman Center
• How I Learned to Drive will be cast from those who audition for Stories on Stage
Fiddler on the Roof
• Auditions are in 5 minute slots
• Sing 32 bars of a song. Accompanist provided. Bring music in proper key from an appropriate Traditional/Golden Age musical theatre work
• Please also prepare a 60-second Contemporary Monologue (late 1800's to contemporary)
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition to fill out paperwork
• Bring a headshot/resume if you have one
Stories on Stage
• Auditions are in 7 minute slots
• Prepare a 90-second Contemporary Monologue
• Also be ready to tell a quick story -- either from your life or totally made up -- about some event in which there are other characters expressing themselves in dialogue
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition to fill out paperwork
• Bring a headshot/resume if you have one
Callbacks:
• Callbacks for Stories on Stage will be posted by Noon on Thursday, January 10 on the Lobby Door to the Byron Theatre and on the JMAC Callboard
• Callbacks for Fiddler on the Roof will be posted by Noon on Friday, January 11 on the Lobby Door to the Byron Theatre and on the JMAC Callboard
Casting:
• Casting will be posted by Noon on Saturday, January 12
