First Night, or whatever was the first show produced in the University of Denver Theatre Department's Elizabeth Eriksen Byron Theatre. The actor/audience configuration chosen for this production was thrust.
The First Night, or whatever set consisted of a make-up room and upstage of it a call board, stairs to the stage and a door to a "star" dressing room. For this show the thrust configuration shown here was reversed so that the audience was looking at the control booth, exit signs, and a fake pin rail. Most of the show takes place in the dressing room on opening night of a production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Finally, the last 30 seconds of the show takes place in the theatre with the beginning line from Act I, Scene 2.
