Thieves was produced on the University of Denver Theatre Department’s proscenium stage. The proscenium arch is 24' wide and 14' high. The grid height is 20' and there is approximately 6' of wing space on both sides.

The Thieves set consisted of a a large number of normal and cantilevered platforms to represent the one bedroom and four balconies on the 29th through 31st floors of the Manhattan high-rises. Additional spaces included the street with taxi cab, front door to one of the high-rises with sleeping doorman, park with bench and movie theatre. Most of the set was painted a very dark blue with colorful props and patches of glowing colors.

The lighting was based a huge number of specials tightly focused to each acting area and a bunch of goboed lights to add windows, etc to the rest of the stage.
