New Online Schedule of Classes

A new Schedule of Classes for the MyWeb system is now in the testing phase and ready for you to look at. The current Schedule (still available for Fall) was built by the Registrar's Office because MyWeb's Schedule didn't include real-time information. The new Schedule is most easily accessed by going directly to the Myweb site, http://myweb.du.edu/, rather than through webCentral. (Note: you can get there through webCentral: click on the MyWeb tab, then the Faculty, Class Schedule. Students get to it by clicking Student & Financial Aid, Registration, Look Up Classes to Add.)

But now it is, and here's an overview of its new features (courtesy of Office of the Registrar):

  • Allows faculty to provide supplemental information for each section:
    • more descriptive (60 character) course titles,
    • a course URL,
    • syllabus information, such as learning objectives, required materials, technical requirements,
    • office hours (for each course, if desired)
  • Provides dynamic links to official (Bulletin) course descriptions;
  • Displays multiple faculty for team-taught courses;
  • Displays opens seats and waitlisted seats (which the old one didn't)
  • Displays Women's College or University College on main page;
  • Displays and allows students to search by attributes, such as 'writing intensive' or 'service learning';
  • Allows students to email faculty from the schedule display

For students, a main advantage is that this page will feel more like other parts of the MyWeb system. The listing of the courses includes a great deal of information, so the pleasingly compact nature of the current Schedule isn't there. Aesthetically, the new Schedule just isn't as pleasing, but its new features should make up for that.
