The University Requirements form DU's general education program.
These courses extend through all four years of study at DU. All students,
regardless of major area of study, share a common experience by taking
courses in both the foundations (lower division requirements) and
the core curricula (upper division requirements).
Foundations courses serve as an introduction to many areas of study
at the University and exposes the student to various courses in the
arts and humanities, the social sciences, and the natural sciences.
Core Curriculum courses are a set of three courses that students take
after completing the foundational requirements.
