McCall to take the helm of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Anne McCall will head Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
While at Tulane, she also served as director of the women’s studies program from 1999–2004 and played a pivotal role in helping the program quadruple its number of majors and minors. McCall also helped the university re-establish its programs following the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina, which shut down the school for a semester.
McCall also served on Tulane’s NCAA recertification subcommittee on welfare, equity and sportsmanship.
In addition to her administrative duties at Tulane, McCall remained an active scholar who is fully immersed in research. Her findings appear in established publications on French 19th century studies, and she participates regularly in research groups in the U.S. and France.
She holds a doctorate and multiple other advanced degrees from the University of Strasbourg. She holds a BA from the University of Virginia.
