John R. L. McBoyle

John R.L. McBoyle is vice president of marketing and sales intermodal for Canadian Pacific Railway (CP). He is responsible for leading CP's intermodal marketing and sales activities, which include domestic intermodal and international. These activities represent approximately twenty-seven percent of CP's freight revenues. McBoyle worked for Sears Canada after graduating from Queen's University with a bachelor of commerce degree. After two years at Sears, he returned to school to complete his master of business administration from the University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business. Upon graduation, McBoyle joined CP in 1980. He has held a variety of positions during his 32-year career, having progressed through a number of senior marketing and sales positions in the bulk and merchandise groups in Montreal, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Calgary, before moving in 1996 to the intermodal business, which is based in Toronto.
