Steve H. Townsend
President and CEO - Keolis America Inc.
Steve H. Townsend has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Keolis America, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the Keolis Group, since 2007. Under his leadership Keolis has successfully expanded into the commuter rail and the transit markets in the US by winning the contract to operate and maintain the Virginia Railway Express commuter rail service and completing the acquisition of Tectrans, Inc., now Keolis Transit America, which provides a variety of transportation solutions in California, Florida, and Virginia. As CEO, Townsend is responsible for the development and management of Keolis SA's US passenger transportation activities. He has spent the larger part of his career in management and executive positions with various oil, energy, and transportation companies. After six years with Koch Industries, LPG Division, he joined Dravo Corporation of Pittsburgh in 1978 and held progressive management positions leading to general manager of its operating company, Dravo Facility Management. More recently, he spent 18 years with Veolia Environment/Transportation in executive positions, such as Executive Vice President-Operations and Chief Operating Officer – Transit Division. Townsend graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1972.
