News & Public Affairs
The News & Public Affairs (NPA) department is the central media relations office for the University. Utilizing a "beat system," NPA staff work with units regarding media and public relations. Our goal is to place reputation-defining stories in local and national media.
NPA also coordinates all crisis communications with several members of the staff designated to speak on behalf of the entire University during a crisis.
Since the University of Denver is a private institution, all media must have permission from News & Public Affairs to work on campus prior to arriving on campus. University departments that invite media to campus should inform NPA before an interview occurs. These rules are designed to protect the privacy of faculty, staff and students.
Contact information for NPA staff, fast facts about the University and the complete media access policy can be viewed at www.du.edu/newsroom.
NPA also produces a monthly report titled "DU in the News," which lists significant placements in the media for the University of Denver.
