Interactive Multimedia Labs
Overview
Multimedia Services manages two interactive labs in Sturm Hall -- SH 353 and SH 354. These labs are available for DU courses at no charge. Any other use includes an hourly fee. However, we do restrict the use to computer-aided learning. DO NOT plan to use the labs for activities that could be accomplished in a regular classroom.
NOTICE: If you need to use software that is not already available in the lab, refer to our Software Installation page. All software installations must be directed through Multimedia Services at least 4 weeks prior to your lab reservation.
Use of the interactive labs by members of the University community or affiliated
groups for purposes other than teaching a class requires payment of a fee,
based on the use. Please visit "Rules & Procedures" for the rates.
Lab Contents
In each lab, there are:
- 28 student computers
- one instructor's computer
- a projection system
- one DVD/VCR combo unit
- an audio system
- one laser printer
- two white boards
All computers have full Internet network connectivity.
If you'd like a preview of the labs, please call us to arrange a time.
We can show you how the room works and answer any questions.
IMML Shared Drive
All computers are connected to what is called the IMML Shared Drive. In My Computer, as well as all other programs, this drive can be accessed by selecting the S:\ drive. When you save a document onto the IMML Shared Drive, it is instantly accessable from all computers in both labs. This will be useful if you need to save data across lab sessions, or if you need to distribute a document to all of the students at the same time.
