Fees for Use

Use of the Computer Labs for a class open to University staff at no costor through a tuition waiver is considered Priority I. There is no charge for Priority I use.

Use of the Interactive Multimedia Labs by members of the University community or affiliated groups for purposes other than teaching a class as described above is considered Priority II. Any other use of the labs is considered Priority III. The charges for Priority II and III are as follows:

Do NOT Install Software. If you need to use software that is not already available in the lab, refer to our Software Installation page. Requests, proof of licensing, and software must be given to our department 4 weeks prior to your reservation date. Rates for software installation and related work are as follows:

Reserving a Lab

Reservations for the labs are filled on a first come, first served basis. Call Multimedia Services at 303.871.3595 to ask if a specific time is available. However, you cannot reserve a lab over the phone. The instructor who will be using the room MUST fill out a Reservation Request at least one week in advance. Forms filled out by someone else on behalf of the instructor will not be accepted. If this form is not received, or is not filled out by the actual instructor, the lab will not be reserved.

Submittal of the online form does not count as a confirmation. You will receive a separate e-mail confirmation once your request has been processed.

If you reserve a lab for the purpose of using the computers, then do not use the computing facilities, you will be charged Priority III rates.

Conflicts

If the time you want is already scheduled, we will give you the name and phone number of the person who has the time reserved. People wanting to use the labs are encouraged to resolve scheduling conflicts among themselves through lab sharing or other solutions, keeping us fully informed of any changes.

Cancellations

Since there is a high demand for the labs, you must call Multimedia Services (303.871.3595) if you need to cancel your reservation. If a cancellation notice is not received by noon the day before your reserved time, you will be charged $25.00.

Checking In

At the time of your scheduled class, do NOT go directly to the lab. Instead, please go to Sturm Hall 391 so one of the techs can let you in the lab. Please be patient as our technicians may not be immediately available.

When not in use, the labs are kept locked and alarmed. The labs are not open labs. You and our technician must inventory the lab at the beginning and end of your session.

If you do not show up to use the lab by 15 minutes after the scheduled starting time, it will be considered a cancellation without prior notice.

You Are Responsible

You are responsible for the lab during the entire time you have it scheduled. If your class ends early, you must call us at 303.871.3595 and tell us you are ready to be checked out of the lab. Do NOT leave the lab before being checked out. If you leave without being checked out, you will be charged $25.00.

ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINK INSIDE LABS!!. Remind your students that food and drink is NOT permitted in the labs. If any evidence of food or drink, that includes water and any other liquid) or an unreasonable mess is left, you will be charged a fee of $50.00.
