Graduate School of Social Work
Department of Engineering

With the considerations of hardware, software, and lab workbench space, the Departments of Engineering REQUIRE ALL incoming Engineering students to use 32-bit Windows-based laptop (no Mac allowed).
In the past, we did have students come in with different brands and models and ran into hardware and software compatibility issues, and that's why we started recommending certain models that we tested with our software and equipment. As we are getting a volume order from Dell, our students get special discounts on the recommended model, too.
This year, we recommend the Dell Latitude E4300 model.
