About the People Who Will Maintain Your Web Site...

A login on agora.cair.du.edu is required in order to maintain web pages on www.du.edu. Most students and staff at the University of Denver have logins on agora.cair.du.edu. If your DU e-mail address is molbrown@du.edu, your login on agora.cair.du.edu is molbrown.

Maintenance access to your Web site can be established for several individuals. The primary maintainer (PM) owns the top-level site directory and any existing sub-directories, has full access to all files on the site, and inherits ownership of any files owned by former maintainers. Optional secondary maintainers have full access to all files on the site and will have ownership of any files or sub-directories they create themselves.

Maintainers' Responsibilities

Site Maintainers have the following responsibilities:

Maintaining appropriate security. Site maintainers should never give others permission to access their site by divulging their passwords on agora. If necessary, secondary maintainers can be established by filling out another copy of this form at any time.
Following the DU Web Development Policy.
Maintaining current and accurate content. When developing a Web site, plan how published pages will be kept up to date - develop a regular maintenance schedule and ensure that adequate staff time can be allotted.
Changing site ownership when appropriate. After individuals leave the University, their logins on agora are removed. To ensure continuity, use this form to change site ownership when primary or secondary maintainers leave DU or when their job functions no longer include site maintenance.

Clubs and other organizations wishing to create or change access to a Web site should submit a Web Site Request for Affiliated Organizations.

Persons with login@du.edu e-mail addresses do not need special permission to set up personal Web sites. Files placed in their public_html subdirectories on agora.cair.du.edu will be accessible on the Web at the address http://www.du.edu/~login/filename. For files named index.htm or index.html, the filename part of this address may be dropped.

Some colleges and departments at the University of Denver maintain their own Web servers. To request that links to other University of Denver Web servers be maintained on pages at www.du.edu, please contact webmaster@du.edu directly.
