Operating System Requirements

In order to secure our networks, the following operating systems are recommended for use at DU:

• Windows XP or Windows 2003
• Macintosh OS 10.3 or above
• Linux/Unix

Please do not attempt to log onto the DU network using Windows XP Home, ME or 2000. Upgrades to Windows XP are covered for faculty and staff under our agreement with Microsoft. See Microsoft Titles

What if it's not on these lists?

Check with the DU Bookstore. Educational discounts are available for most software in general use today. You should also be sure that your unit/department allows individuals to install software of their choice. Some DU departments with client/server systems are setup so only the system administrator can install software.
