Telephone Features
There are two principal types of telephone sets at the University of Denver: ITEs (Integrated Terminal Equipment) which are digital sets, and; STEs (Standard Telephone Equipment) which are analog sets. ITEs are single or multi-line telephones with feature buttons in addition to the standard touch-tone pad; STEs are single line telephones with feature instructions imprinted on the faceplates.
All system features are available on all types of telephones. The feature buttons on ITE sets are labeled with their functions, but many features not assigned to a specific button are available by following these steps. To use any of these features on an STE telephone, simply follow the instructions given below.
Note: where instructed to ‘Flash Switchhook’ this means to briefly depress the button that would normally disconnect a call. This action works only on STE phones; doing so on ITE sets will disconnect the call in progress. Features that are accessed by flashing the switchhook must be designated on a feature button to be used on an ITE telephone set.
