HOLD

Description: The Hold feature allows a user to place a caller on hold without disconnecting the caller. This feature can also be used to switch back and forth between two calls.

To Initiate Hold

Starting Position: Original Call Established

1. Depress switch hook or flash button "Enter, Enter", confirmation dial tone
2. Dial * 4 Dial Tone

To Return to Original Call

Starting Position: Original Call "On Hold"

To Alternate Between Two Calls

TRANSFER

Description: The Transfer feature is used to redirect an incoming call from your phone to another on-campus extension.

To Initiate Transfer

Starting Position: Original Call Established
You Do You Hear
1. Depress switch hook or flash button "Enter, Enter"
2. Dial * 1 Confirmation dial tone
3. Dial 4-digit on-campus extension Destination ring-go to step 4
OR
Busy tone-Called party is busy.
Depress switch hook or flash button
and Dial * 1 to return to original call.
4. Hang Up

CALL FORWARDING

Description: The Call Forwarding feature is used to redirect all of your calls to a specified location. Call Forwarding allows you to send all of your calls to another telephone number without ringing the telephone set in your room.

To Activate Call Forwarding

3. Dial telephone number to which you are forwarding your calls Two confirmation beeps

THREE-WAY CALLING

Description: Allows you to talk to two different people at the same time. While the conference call must be initiated from an on-campus telephone set, other participants may be on-campus or off-campus

To Initiate a Three Way Call

Starting Position: First Call Established

CALL WAITING

Description: The Call Waiting feature alerts you that another person is trying to call you when you are on the phone.

To Hold an Original Call and Answer a Waiting Call

Starting Position: Original Call Established

2. Depress switch hook or flash button "Enter, Enter"
3. Dial * 4 Dial tone
4. Hang up telephone Second call rings your phone

To Return to Original Call

AUTOMATIC CALL BACK -- BUSY

Description: The Automatic Call Back - Busy feature is used to help connect you with an on-campus extension which is consistently busy. After activating this feature for a busy extension, the system will “watch” that extension and notify you with a priority alerting ring when it becomes free. Then the system will automatically dial the proper extension when you lift your handset from the cradle. NOTE: A limited number of administrative extensions do not accept call backs.

To Activate Automatic Call Back-Busy

Starting Position: Extension has been dialed; busy tone is heard.

You Do You Hear
1. Depress switch hook or flash button "Enter, Enter"
2. Dial * 7 Two confirmation beeps
OR
Error tone-the extension you have dialed does not accept call backs.
3. Hang up telephone
4. The telephone system will now watch that extension and notify you with a priority alerting ring when it becomes free. The system will automatically dial the proper extension when you lift the handset during the alerting ring.

AUTOMATIC ALL BACK -- NO ANSWER

Description: The Automatic Call Back - No Answer feature is used to help connect you with an on-campus call which is not answered. The called party’s telephone will notify him or her of a message and enable him or her to return your call.

To Activate Automatic Call Back-No Answer

Starting Position: Extension dialed, no answer, you hear destination ring.

1. Depress switch hook or flash button "Enter, Enter"
2. Dial * 7 Two confirmation beeps
OR
Error tone-the extension you have dialed does not accept call backs.
3. Hang up telephone

To Return a Call Back Message

1. Pick up handset "Message, Message", dial tone
2. Dial * 7 Destination ring

LAST NUMBER REDIAL

Description: The Last Number Redial feature “remembers” the last off-campus call that you made and redials that number for you. The number could be either a local number (you dialed 9 followed by a local 10-digit number) or a long distance number dialed with your University long distance authorization code (you dialed 8+authorization code+1+area code+ number).

To Activate Last Number Redial

Starting Position: Off-campus number was previously dialed. You wish to dial the same number again.

DO NOT DISTURB

Description: When activated, the Do Not Disturb feature will prevent your telephone set from ringing or, if your line is in use for either a voice or modem call, it will disable the Call Waiting feature. While the feature is activated, on-campus callers will hear a message stating “please call back later” and off-campus callers will receive a busy signal when they dial your extension.

To Activate Do Not Disturb

3. Hang up telephone

To Cancel Do Not Disturb

1. Pick up handset "Private, Private", dial tone
2. Dial # 6 Two confirmation beeps, do not disturb has been disabled
