Learning Objectives

NOTE: Unlike other classes offered in this series, Advanced HTML Topics is not a course to learn how to use a specific technology. This class will introduce Web technologies you may wish to evaluate for use in your pages. The technologies covered may vary from time to time. Should you find a technology that is of interest, you should plan to purchase books or tutorials about it yourself.

Become familiar with some of the new technologies used in Web page development.
Be able to take the first steps to evaluate new technology.
Know who to contact to determine if the technology you are interested in is available on DU's central computers.

Key Concepts

Advanced technologies may require installation of server software.
Advanced technologies may require installation of helper software for the client.
Not all technologies will be available on all servers at DU.
Many new technologies require programming or sophisticated graphics skills to implement.
Support and assistance for some new technologies may be limited or unavailable.
