Editing Basics

Updating the content of a webpage is a 3-step process:

Log in to OUCampus

  1. In any browser, navigate to the page you want to edit.
  2. in the footer of the page, click the direct edit button Direct Edit
  3. Log in with your DU username (usually your first initial and part of your last name, and maybe a number) and your webCentral password.

Edit the page

Note:  Pages are often divided into several editable regions. 

  1. Click the green Edit button on the above of the region you want to edit.  Edit the page as you would a Word document.  You can copy and paste from Word, and create links using the toolbar.  When you are finished editing the region, click the save button.
  2. If you want to edit another region on the page, click the Edit toolbar button, then the next editable region, and make the desired edits.

Publish the page  (published pages are live immediately)

  1. Click the Publish button.  OU will likely run a spell and link checker. 
  2. Enter a brief note about the changes you made, and click the publish button. 
  3. View the published page in a New Window.
