Coors Fitness Center Membership FAQs

This fall, Human Resources and the Division of Athletics and Recreation have partnered to provide three-month, incentivized Coors Fitness Center memberships for DU faculty & staff participating in the Thrive Across America program. Register for Thrive Across America and you'll receive a free Coors Fitness Center Crimson (limited) membership in the month of October!

1. How do I get started?
First, register for Thrive Across America. Next, head over to the Coors Fitness Center and sign up for a membership. Please let the staff know you are participating in the Thrive Across America program. CURRENT MEMBERS MUST DO THIS BY SEPTEMBER 20th IF ON PAYROLL DEDUCTION.

2. What requirements do I have to meet to receive a free Coors Fitness Center membership during this program?
In the month of October, all Thrive Across America participants will receive a free Coors Fitness Center Crimson membership.
Thrive Across America participants who visit the Coors Fitness Center six (6) times between October 1-20 AND log 600 activity minutes in the online Thrive Across America portal will receive a free Crimson membership for the month of November.
Thrive Across America participants who visit the Coors Fitness Center eight (8) times between October 21 – November 18 AND reach the half-way point (1200 activity minutes) in the online Thrive Across America portal will receive a free Crimson membership for the month of December.

3. How do I sign up for a Coors Fitness Center membership?
To sign up, head on over to the Coors Fitness Center front desk. You will need to complete a new member application, provide payment information and billing authorization, and complete an Acknowledgement of Risk form.

4. Do I need to bring anything to the Coors Fitness Center to sign up for a membership?
Please bring your DU ID and payment information when registering for a membership.

5. Why do I have to provide payment information when I sign up for my membership?
If you do not meet the minimum requirements for a free membership in November & December, you will be billed for your membership ($25/month).

6. Can I complete the paperwork prior to going to the Coors Fitness Center?
Yes. Membership forms are available online.

7. Can I work out at the Coors Fitness Center in the month of September?
Yes, for a nominal fee. Your membership will be prorated based on the day you register for your membership. Any September membership payments will be due on the day you register for your membership.

8. Can I sign up for payroll deduction during this program?
Yes, payroll deduction is a payment option during the program.

9. What happens if I'm already a Coors Fitness Center member?
If you are currently a Coors Fitness Center member, you will not be billed for your membership in the month of October as long as you register for Thrive Across America by September 20th if you have payroll deduction. Be sure to meet the program requirements in order for your membership dues to be covered in November & December.

10. What happens if I'm a current Coors Fitness Center member with payroll deduction?
If you are currently a Coors Fitness Center member with payroll deduction, you must register for Thrive Across America by Friday, September 20 (please note, this is an early but firm deadline). We will remove $25 from your membership deduction total in October. The deduction will be removed from your November and December paychecks if you meet the program requirements (outlined above).

11. What happens if I'm a current Coors Fitness Center annual member?
If you are currently an annual member, you will receive a refund matching your program participation at the end of the Thrive Across America program (i.e. all annual members will receive a $25 refund plus any additional months where they met the participation requirements). We will contact you at the end of the program to discuss your refund options.

12. When will my Coors Fitness Center membership expire?
If you are new to the Coors Fitness Center, your membership will expire on December 31, 2013. If you are a current member, your membership will not expire unless you request a cancellation.

13. What do I do if I want to cancel my Coors Fitness Center membership?
If you would like to cancel your Coors Fitness Center membership, please stop by the front desk or contact our Director of Sales & Services, Jeff Yeager, at 303.871.7684 or jeffrey.yeager@du.edu. Please note that all memberships require a 30 day cancellation notice.

14. What happens if I leave the University of Denver during this program?
If you leave the University, your access to the Thrive Across America program and its benefits will end. You will not receive any monetary refunds for your Coors Fitness Center membership.

15. What happens if I don't meet the minimum monthly requirements for my membership reimbursement?
If you do not meet the Thrive participation requirements for a specific month (outlined below), you will be assessed a monthly Coors Fitness Center membership charge of $25.
October membership – register for Thrive Across America
November membership – visit the Coors Fitness Center six (6) times between October 1-20 and log 600 activity minutes in Thrive
December membership - visit the Coors Fitness Center eight (8) times between October 21-November 18 and reach the halfway point in Thrive (1200 minutes)

16. What level of Coors Fitness Center access will I receive?
Thrive Across America participants will receive a Crimson level, individual membership ($25/month). A Crimson level membership includes the following access:

Monday – Friday: 5 a.m. – 3 p.m. & 8 p.m. – Close
Saturday: 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday: 6 a.m. – 11 p.m.

17. If I currently have a +1 or Family Coors Fitness Center membership, will my full membership dues be reimbursed through this program?
No, your membership fee will be reduced by $25 for the months in which you meet the program requirements.

18. How do I check in at the Coors Fitness Center?
You will use your DU ID to check in at the Coors Fitness Center. At each visit, be sure to check in at the front desk to ensure your visit is recorded.

19. Will I receive access to the Coors Fitness Center locker rooms?
Yes, all members receive access to our Crimson locker rooms. You may also rent a Crimson locker room locker for $15/month.

20. What is included with a Coors Fitness Center membership?
A Coors Fitness Center membership includes access to the fitness center, El Pomar Natatorium, public skate sessions, drop-in hockey and stick & puck sessions, group fitness classes, and a variety of sports and wellness resources.

21. Who do I contact if I am billed for my membership but have met the program requirements?

22. Can I continue my Coors Fitness Center membership after the Thrive Across America program ends?
