The Philosophy of Wellness courses are required for any member living in the Wellness LLC community as well as for any student wishing to pursue the interdisciplinary Wellness minor. These courses are offered for two credits each quarter, the goal of these classes is to introduce various area of wellness and provide students with unique perspectives on what it means to "live well" in modern times.
The fall 2007 Wellness course takes place on Thursdays from 2-3:50. This course is one of three courses required for Wellness Living & Learning Community students, although it is open for enrollment to the entire University of Denver student population. The first course in the Wellness sequence, this course is an introduction to personal health and wellness focusing mainly on physical and mental wellness and personal health choices. This course introduces students to a variety of wellness resources and professionals within the Denver community and is experiential in nature with various guest lectures and hands-on activities. We utilize Blackboard Discussion Board, an online discussion tool to enhance the learning experience of this course.

Wellness LLC residents will have a "head start" on earning the Wellness Minor. This is an exciting area of study and is a great option for study of all departments, especially for students going into pre-med, psychology, counseling, physical therapy, business, and even philosophy!
The Winter 2009 Wellness course is taught by Dr. Roscoe Hill. This course is the second of three courses required for Wellness Living & Learning Community students, although it is open for enrollment to the entire University of Denver student population. The focus of this course is primarily on issues of intellectual and spiritual wellness. The role of spirituality and religion in each person's life is explored, as well as how religion and spirituality interact in the building of a community. Students investigate various ways of finding and exploring spirituality as well as discuss how their own spirituality has shaped their lives.

Spring 2009
The Spring 2008 Wellness course takes place on Thursdays from 2-3:50. This course is the last of three courses required for Wellness Living & Learning Community students, although it is open for enrollment to the entire University of Denver student population. This course focuses primarily on international health and wellness; patterns of human communication and coping associated with "traditional" and "modern" practices; and the cultural contexts within which maladies arise and cures are offered. Several of the topics of greatest importance to contemporary health professionals are covered, including HIV/AIDS, torture, and infanticide. Slides, videos, and guest speakers also will be featured.
