The Wellness Living and Learning Community is an engaged community that fosters well-being through academic and personal journeys of wellness. This Living and Learning Community seeks to inspire a life-long commitment to physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, social, and community wellness.
The Wellness LLC was designed to promote personal growth and development.
It is based on the belief that wellness is a life-long process of continuous
improvement.
Each quarter of your first year, you'll take a two-credit class on the various
aspects of wellness. You'll learn more about the dimensions of wellness and
you'll discover how to live well in the challenging 21st century. Topics may
include physical and mental wellness, global issues of health, and wellness
and spiritual aspects of wellness. If you decide to pursue an interdisciplinary
minor in wellness, you can apply credits from these courses toward your goal.
You will also sign a wellness-living contract and commit to making healthful
decisions while part of the living and learning community. To make the process
easier, upper-class Wellness students will mentor you and DU's Student
Health Services Center and the Ritchie
Center will provide special nutrition, physical conditioning, and stress
and lifestyle management consultation sessions.
"Health is not simply the
absence of sickness."
- Hannah Green
