Middle and high school students who participate:
The program challenges young people to think about their relationship to the rest of the world while taking part in a fun, day-long competition. Three events based on specific themes assess students' knowledge about what's going on in the world and highlight students' creative, analytical, and presentation skills. Grants Available! The Denver Council on Foreign Relations (DCFR) and the Colorado Springs World Affairs Council (CSWAC) have both generously decided to continue sponsoring World Affairs Challenge teams in 2010. DCFR will be offering two grants for rural Colorado schools of up to $300.00, to defer the costs of participation (including travel and overnight expenses). Additionally CSWAC will be accepting applications from high schools and middle schools in El Paso and Teller Counties. Schools can apply for as much as $500.00 to defer the cost of participation.
