The New Video World Affairs Challenge

In the Spring of 2007, we tested a new version of the World Affairs Challenge. Then we had a second round of uploads in the winter of 2008. See the videos here!

We continue our beta-test of the Video World Affairs Challenge this spring with a third round of uploads. The goal is to see what the students can do, how the process works, and how it all comes together.

It has been exciting to explore this exciting method of creating content-rich and inventive presentations with your team. We hope the teams have fun, learn a lot about global affairs, and learn some important new skills about creating video presentations. Most of all, we hope that you will embark with us on this journey for learning!

What is the Video World Affairs Challenge?

The Video World Affairs Challenge encourages students to create short, research-based videos about a global topic based on an overarching theme, which for this fall is Global Health.

Students work in teams to research Global Health issues, and then film (if necessary) or create their presentations. The teams will upload their presentations to a web site where the judges and other teams will be able to view their work. Then judges view the videos and score the videos. Teachers will receive the scoring criteria to share with the students.
