The Video World Affairs Challenge
The Center for Teaching International Relations (CTIR) has created an exciting, new way for students to learn more about Global Affairs!
The Video World Affairs Challenge (VideoWAC) allows students to create short, research-based videos/presentations related to a topic of global focus. This year's topics of focus are: Global Trade, World Agriculture, Human Rights, Human Migration, Energy, and Water.
You and your students can participate from virtually anywhere!
Students form teams to research an issue or problem related to one of the six topics, and create a multimedia presentation that suggests a solution. The presentation can include video clips, photos, music, text, PowerPoint or whatever the team needs to creatively get their point across. (Presentations are limited to 5 minutes or a 40 Mb file size.) Teams upload their work to a website where judges and other teams will be able to view their work. Judges score the videos and determine the winners!
This would be a great experience for your students! Let them show off their
understanding of the world.
